Antibiotic Selection, Expression vectors and FBS

TaKaRa Bio

The addition tools used in culture or for cell selection with transfection

Antibiotic Selection, Expression vectors and FBS
TaKaRa Bio

TaKaRa Bio offers except of the main XFect Transfection Reagents any other tools used with transfection.

For ATB Selection is possible to use

Anhydrotetracycline

  • Derivate of tetracycline that exhibits no antibiotic activity
  • Used with tetracycline-controlled gene expression systems in bacteria

G418

  • Sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic similar to gentamycin
  • Is toxic to bacteria, yeast, higher plant and mammalian cells in addition to protozoans and helminths

Puromycin

  • Dihydrochloride is a broad spectrum antibiotic
  • Inhibits protein synthesis in eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells

Hygromycin B

  • Aminoglycoside antibiotic
  • Inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria, fungi and higher eukaryotes

For other applications is possible to use

Linear Selection Markers

  • Ideal for the cotransfection with any expression vector where is required stable integration and expression
  • For hygromycin resistance or puromycin resistance to establish stable cell lines
  •  These markers are short, purified linear DNA fragments comprised of the marker gene the SV40 promoter and the SV40 polyadenylation signal

Mammalian Expression Vectors

  • contain a multiple cloning site located upstream of a selection marker expressing IRES
  • pIRESpuro3, pIREShyg3, pIRESneo3 and pIRESbleo3

Tet System Approved Fetal Bovine Serum

  • For cell culture
  • Permits the full range of tetracycline-regulated induction with well characterized Tet cell lines
  • It ensures lowest background expression with Tet-On 3G System
